The Lawns Restaurant is one of Kampala’s most iconic finedining destinations, known for its elegant ambience, exceptional service, and signature wildgame and continental cuisine. We are expanding our culinary leadership and seeking a worldclass Head Chef to elevate our kitchen to new heights.

The Role

We are looking for a highly skilled, internationally exposed Head Chef with strong leadership abilities and a proven track record with seating capacity of 300 guest at premium restaurant environments. The ideal candidate brings creativity, discipline, and the ability to deliver consistent excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all culinary operations and uphold finedining standards
• Develop innovative menus with strong African game meat and international influences
• Manage kitchen staff, training, scheduling, and performance
• Oversee food safety, hygiene, and HACCP compliance
• Control food cost, inventory, procurement, and supplier relations
• Ensure exceptional guest experience through quality and consistency
• Collaborate with management on menu strategy and special events

Required Qualifications & Experience

• 12–15 years professional culinary experience
• Hotel Management qualification (mandatory)
• Minimum 5 years overseas experience in reputable hotels or finedining restaurants
• Minimum 5 years restaurantspecific experience
• Africa experience in a senior culinary role
• Strong expertise in continental, European, and African cuisine
• Proven leadership in highpressure, premium dining environments
