Job Purpose
To support the implementation of the Authority’s human resource management and development programmes
Key Accountabilities
- Supporting recruitment process, contracting and orientation of new staff;
- Coordinate staff performance management processes;
- Managing implementation of staff training and development programmes;
- Coordinating climate surveys to gauge employee satisfaction and work atmosphere;
- Implementing and monitoring employee internal communication;
- Providing support to line managers on implementation of employment manual and relevant laws;
- Coordinate organisational cultural programmes;
- Coordinate handling of staff grievances, investigations and follow up of disciplinary cases;
- Support implementation of computerized human resource management information system (HRMIS);
- Support management of staff severance process including exit interviews;
Minimum Requirements
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources management, Organizational and Industrial Psychology, Business Administration (HR Specialization) from a recognized university.
- A post graduate or internationally recognized professional qualification in a relevant field is an added advantage.
Experience
At least three years of relevant working experience gained with a reputable public or private commercial or donor funded organization, one of which must have been acquired at a similar level/position.
Technical Competencies
Knowledge of best practices in Human Resource Management
Behavioural Competencies
- Ability to work on own initiative as well as in a team
- Excellent business acumen.
- Capacity to establish credibility, and trust and partnership.
- Analytical and problem –solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent report writing skills.
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to adapt HR strategies to a fast-paced, innovative IT environment.
