Job Description

Manage routine washing, drying, sanitizing, handling, and issuing of factory uniforms and protective workwear to support company wide hygiene.

Maintain strict separation between dirty and clean laundry areas to prevent recontamination of workwear.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Collect and sort uniforms according to garment type, colour, contamination level, department, or washing requirements.
• Inspect laundry machines prior to operation for leaks, damaged doors, abnormal noises, or electrical hazards.
• Load laundry machines within approved capacities and measure detergents and sanitizers carefully according to company instructions.
• Select correct wash programs, water temperatures, and sanitizing procedures based on garment needs.
• Transfer washed items to dryers or drying areas ensuring zero contact with dirty laundry.
• Inspect clean uniforms for stains, tears, missing buttons, or defects, separating damaged garments for repair or replacement.
• Fold, store, and issue clean garments while maintaining accurate uniform issue records including employee details, sizes, quantities, and dates.
• Clean and sanitize laundry floors, machines, baskets, shelves, drains, and work surfaces.
• Wear designated PPE when handling heavily soiled workwear or laundry chemicals, and report chemical spills or machine faults immediately.
• Monitor stock levels of detergent, sanitizer, laundry bags, replacement uniforms, and related laundry supplies.

Education Qualifications & Experience

Education Qualifications

Degree, Diploma, Certificate, National Certificate, or vocational qualification in Laundry Operations, Hospitality, Hotel Management, Textile Technology, Garment Technology, Home Economics, Cleaning Services, Environmental Health, or related vocational studies

Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) or Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE)

Candidates without specialized laundry education are eligible as operational training is covered in the company practical program

Experience

No prior work experience required.

Operational competency is developed through the company structured four week practical onboarding program.
