Description

JOB SUMMARY

The IT Graduate Intern contributes to the calling of Medical Teams International calling by providing Level 1 helpdesk support and basic IT services across MTI field offices, including upcountry locations, ensuring operational continuity and staff capacity to use digital tools effectively.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Helpdesk (Level 1)

First point of contact for IT support; log, triage, and resolve staff tickets promptly.

Internet Connectivity

Diagnose LAN WAN and ISP issues; troubleshoot Cisco Meraki Wi Fi access points.

Hardware – Laptops & Devices

Perform diagnostics, basic repairs, OS reinstalls, driver updates on staff equipment.

Microsoft 365 Support

Troubleshoot Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive; and multi factor authentication concerns

Leased Printer Management

Coordinate vendor maintenance; coordinate toner replacement schedules, resolve driver network issues and track consumables.

Adobe Sign Training.

Support staff with basic guidance on adobe sign esignature workflows; produce quickreference guides.

M365 Onboarding Training

Facilitate onboarding sessions for new staff covering email, Teams, and shared drives.

IT Asset Register

Coordinate with Assets dept and ensure accurate asset inventory; conduct periodic audits and reconcile records.

DELIVERABLES

  • Weekly IT support log (tickets received, resolved, escalated).
  • Weekly IT support meeting with IT Coordinator (updates on region challenges).
  • Updated IT Asset Register with accurate inventory across all supported offices.
  • Monthly IT report (issues addressed, recommendations with the supported location).
  • End of Internship Report summarizing activities, gaps, and IT improvement recommendations.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS

  • Diploma Certificate in IT – Hardware & Software, Networking, or equivalent technical certification.
  • Bachelor's Degree in IT, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field. (Preferred.)
  • Certifications in CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, Microsoft MS 900, or CCNA (added advantage)

EXPERIENCE

Not mandatory, however, person must have graduated not more than 2 years ago.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Windows OS, M365 suite, basic networking (TCP IP, LAN, Wi Fi), hardware repair, printer setup, Cisco hardware knowledge.
  • Basic understanding of computer systems, hardware, and software
  • Knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS)
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals (IP addressing, DNS, routers, TCP IP)
  • Basic cybersecurity principles (password security, data protection, threats)
  • Familiarity with at least one programming language: Common ones: Python, Java, JavaScript, C#
  • Basics of database management systems (DBMS)
  • Ability to write simple SQL queries
  • Understanding of data storage and retrieval
