Junior Software Engineer Job Purpose

We are seeking a motivated Junior Software Engineer to join our engineering team. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career engineer who enjoys solving problems across software development, infrastructure, cloud platforms, and customer support. Working alongside senior engineers, you will contribute to product development while learning to manage and support Pebuu's technology ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, test and improve Pebuu software products.
• Investigate, troubleshoot and resolve software bugs.
• Provide first-line technical support to customers via email and the support platform (approximately 25% of the role).
• Assist with software deployments and production releases.
• Monitor, maintain and troubleshoot Linux servers and cloud infrastructure.
• Write and optimise SQL queries and manage application databases.
• Build and maintain REST APIs and system integrations.
• Collaborate using Git and take part in code reviews.
• Document technical processes and solutions.
• Own day-to-day engineering tasks, escalating complex issues where appropriate.

Bonus Points

Knowledge in; Flutter / Dart. Supabase. Prisma ORM. Nginx, Apache, PM2 or Docker. Mobile application development. Cloud infrastructure.

What you will need:

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related field — or equivalent demonstrable experience.
• 0–2 years of professional experience; recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
• Experience with React and/or Next.js.
• Experience developing Node.js applications.
• A good understanding of SQL databases (MySQL and PostgreSQL).
• Experience using Git.
• Comfortable working in a Linux environment and using SSH.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written communication.
