JOB DETAILS:

Background

Uganda Heart Institute (UHI) is established by the Uganda Heart Institute Act CAP 258 as an Autonomous Government Entity to undertake and coordinate the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease in Uganda. UHI intends to recruit competent people in various departments, to enhance its human resource capacity and support the effective delivery of specialised cardiovascular services.

Job Purpose

To coordinate the laundry services at the Institute.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Supervise general flow of activities in laundry
• Plan laundry activities in line with hospital objectives.
• Take part in the procurement of laundry consumables.
• Ensure laundry consumables are available all the time.
• Ensures enough linen is always available ready to be used.
• Guides and trains laundry staff on better laundry practices.
• Maintains laundry registers (Dispatch, Machine maintenance and Consumables records).
• Ensures proper discipline among laundry staff.

Person Specifications

• Bachelor's degree in any of humanities.
• Certificate in laundry practice or infection control practice

Experience

Experience in a hospital setting will be added advantage

Work Hours: 8

Experience in Months: 12

Level of Education: bachelor degree
