Our client, in the manufacturing sector (Coffee) Uganda, is looking for LOGISTICS OFFICER to work on site in Namanve.

Job Purpose

The Logistics Officer is responsible for coordinating the transportation, warehousing and distribution of raw coffee and finished products, ensuring the timely and cost-effective movement of goods between farms, processing facilities, warehouses and export points.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate transportation of green coffee from collection points/farms to the processing facility, and of finished product to warehouses and export points.
• Manage relationships with transporters, clearing agents and freight forwarders.
• Track and monitor shipments to ensure timely delivery and resolve any delays or discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate records of stock movements, delivery notes and warehouse inventory.
• Coordinate with the Production and Quality teams on packaging and dispatch schedules.
• Ensure compliance with export documentation requirements, including certificates of origin, phytosanitary certificates and customs documentation.
• Monitor fuel usage, vehicle maintenance schedules and logistics costs to optimize efficiency.
• Conduct periodic stock counts and reconciliations in warehouses.
• Ensure proper handling and storage of coffee to minimize losses and maintain quality during transit.
• Prepare logistics and transport reports for management.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in warehousing and transportation.

Qualifications, Skills & Desired Traits

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in logistics or supply chain, preferably in Agro-processing or the export industry.
• Knowledge of customs and export procedures is an added advantage.
• Strong organizational, planning and negotiation skills.
• A valid driving permit is an advantage.
• Good computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and inventory/logistics systems.
