On behalf of our client in the NGO sector, we are looking for competent, skilled and experienced Nurse to work in Jinja.
Nurse Grade – Dependent on Experience Location – JINJA
Job Overview
As a Nurse at Imprint Hope you will make a key contribution to IH’s mission by ensuring the health and medical needs of the children under Imprint Hope’s program are managed well. In this position you will provide Imprint Hope families with education, resources, and advocacy to ensure a healthy medical status for the children under our program. As a nurse, you will develop trusting partnerships with patients and create an evidence-based, medical plan for each family under Imprint Hope’s program. As a Nurse at Imprint Hope, you must embody the core values of integrity, respect, understanding, teamwork, and excellence. Your skills will ensure the team prioritizes the stewardship of IH resources and the health and safety of all Imprint Hope clients.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Promote and restore patient’s health by completing the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families.
- Identify patient care requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to understand care requirements.
- Establish a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families.
- Promote patient independence by establishing patient care goals; teaching patients, friends, and family to understand the condition, medications, and self-care skills; and answering questions.
- Make recommendations for referrals and/or specialists to ensure the safety, health and well-being of all patients.
- Resolve patient problems and needs by utilizing multidisciplinary team strategies.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations; and calling for assistance from Imprint Hope Team.

- Demonstrates Leadership and positively influences others; effectively trains and mentors peers
- Builds strong teams: prioritizes communication and teamwork and makes people feel valued
- Manages toward results: takes initiative and responsibility; holds self and team accountable for results

Basic Qualifications
- Diploma in a related field (e.g. Nursing etc). A degree in a related field is an advantage.
- Fluent in spoken and written Luganda and English; Lusoga is an advantage
- Basic computer skills (typing, word processing, spreadsheets) are an advantage
- Experience working with or knowledge about persons with disabilities is a plus

- Strong analytical and accounting skills.
