Job Description

Safely transport, position, and mount heavy shrink film and label reels onto high speed packaging machines. Maintain material handling standards, traceability, and stock control to prevent packaging damage, contamination, and unrecorded movements. Support continuous packaging line operations through disciplined adherence to safety protocols, quality procedures, and shift schedules.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Transport, position, and mount heavy shrink film and label reels accurately onto packaging machinery.
• Maintain physical and system inventory control of packaging materials, verifying quantities, batch information, and storage locations.
• Apply FIFO, FEFO, segregation, and rotation rules to protect packaging film from contamination, moisture, and damage.
• Check material receipts, transfers, and issues against documentation, communicating discrepancies before items are moved.
• Comply with occupational health and safety rules, food hygiene guidelines, manual lifting standards, and required PPE usage at all times.
• Keep complete, legible, and traceable shift logs, checklists, and material records ready for audits and handovers.
• Organize daily reel handling tasks in alignment with packaging schedules to avoid machine downtime and unsafe stacking.
• Escalate safety hazards, equipment issues, and damaged materials promptly through established reporting channels.

Education Qualifications & Experience

Education Qualifications

• National Technical Certificate or National Certificate in a relevant mechanical, trade, or technical field.
• Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE), or Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) combined with relevant vocational training.
• Bachelor's Degree, Higher Diploma, Ordinary Diploma, or Certificate in Packaging, Stores Management, Inventory Management, Logistics, Warehousing, Transport and Logistics, Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Commerce, Accounting, Agribusiness, Agriculture, Business Studies, or a related discipline.

Experience

• No prior work experience required.
• Includes 1 week of safety and material handling training.
