Background information about the job or company:
The incumbent will be responsible to the Assistant Commissioner, Laboratories for performing the following duties:-
- Preparing work plans, training plans, budgets and performance reports for the Section;
- Supervising designing, reviewing or adapting of relevant technology for mineral processing and metallurgy;
- Supervising designing bench tests and pilot mineral dressing plants and scaling them up for industrial use;
- Supervising and enforcing metallurgical standards in plants under mining operations;
- Supervising and enforcing Occupational Health and Safety in laboratory operations;
- Supervising preparation of technical reports on findings;
- Supervising and appraising Senior Officers in the Section;
- Any other duties as assigned from time to time.
Responsibilities:

Qualifications:
- Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering; or Mineral Processing Engineering; or Extractive Metallurgical Engineering; or Industrial Chemistry plus a Masters Degree in Extractive Metallurgical Engineering; or Chemical Engineering; or Mineral Processing Engineering from a recognized University /Institution.
Experience needed:
Applicants should have a minimum of six (6) years relevant working experience, three (3) of which should have been served at Senior Mineral Dresser level in Government.
