About the Role:

You are a dedicated professional to analyze, develop, maintain, and ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across our entire production chain – from research and hybrid development to parent seed multiplication, commercial farms, out-growers, workshop operations, processing, and quality assurance. Your work will drive efficiency, quality, and full compliance with industry and regulatory standards.

You drive the parent seed team and assure that variety releases undergo precommercial studies, are being bulked and reach commercial stage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, review, and update SOPs in line with Uganda seed laws, ISTA, HACCP, ISO, and health & safety requirements
  • Collaborate with section managers and Quality Assurance to embed best practices

  • Deliver training sessions and build team capacity for consistent SOP adherence
  • Maintain accurate documentation and report on compliance status and improvements
  • Contribute to continuous process enhancement for greater efficiency and quality
  • Oversee parent seed unit within the company.
  • In Variety Advancement you link between the product development unit and the commercialization. Identify the potential varieties, develop road maps, study and document the traits and production behavior as well take them to pre-commercial levels.
  • Any other related duties allocated to you from time to time

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Agriculture, Agronomic Sciences, Agricultural Engineering, or related field is a MUST. Or a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture related course with relevant working experience.
  • 2–3 years' experience in production management or SOP coordination in seed/Agro-industry (hybrid maize experience advantageous)
  • Strong knowledge of seed industry standards and regulations
  • Excellent skills in documentation, auditing, training, and communication
  • Proficient in MS Office; collaborative, detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving and leadership abilities
