Job Description
Record weights of vehicles entering and leaving the factory or distribution site to support accurate logistics and inventory control.
Verify vehicle and dispatch documentation to ensure transparent receiving, dispatch, and material accounting operations.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Guide vehicles onto the scale to confirm all wheels are correctly positioned and no part is supported outside the weighing platform.
- Instruct drivers to remain stationary until the complete weighing process is concluded.
- Record gross and tare weights using weighbridge software or approved forms, ensuring one vehicle's weight is never assigned to another.
- Verify calculated net cargo weights and review results immediately for obvious abnormalities.
- Receive drivers and inspect delivery, dispatch, supplier, customer, and vehicle credentials.
- Print and issue weight certificates, tickets, and receiving records following established site procedures.
- Check scale cleanliness and physical condition routinely, promptly reporting damaged platforms, unstable readings, software problems, printer faults, or calibration concerns.
- Communicate discrepancies promptly to receiving, warehouse, procurement, security, dispatch, and accounts teams.
- Maintain calibration documentation while upholding complete integrity and never altering weight figures.

- Computer literacy and weighbridge software operation
- Document checking and vehicle detail verification

- Clear communication and record keeping integrity
Education Qualifications & Experience
Education Qualifications
- Degree, Diploma, Certificate, National Certificate, or technical qualification in Business Administration, Logistics, Procurement, Accounting, Statistics, Stores Management, Supply Chain, ICT, Engineering, or related fields
- Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) or Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE)
- Demonstrated foundational numeracy and basic computer literacy
Experience
- No prior work experience required.
- Comprehensive onboarding training is provided covering weighing procedures, vehicle identification, software usage, calculations, safety, documentation, and fraud prevention.
