Air Condition Technician
General Summary
Appliance World Limited (AWL) is looking for a detail-oriented Air Conditioning Technician to Perform periodic preventive maintenance of all Air conditioning and refrigeration systems. Must be familiar with the necessary work procedures, systems and procedures. Review equipment condition to ensure compliance, must be detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to work with little to no supervision and perform under pressure.

Roles and Responsibilities:
• Installing, maintaining and repairing ventilation and air conditioning systems and equipment.
• Identifying maintenance risks on equipment and provide technical advice and guidance on correct equipment replacement parts, rating and type to be procured for or installed.
• Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC systems, performs regularly scheduled preventive maintenance check.
• Cleaning, adjusting and repairing systems, and performing warranty services.
• Performing emergency repairs promptly and efficiently.
• Providing technical direction and on-the-job training and share technical Skills to other Technicians of the company.
• Keeping daily logs and records of all maintenance functions, completes required maintenance and makes recommendation for repairs, replacement or disposal of equipment under area of responsibility.
• Ensuring compliance with appliance standards and with Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• Complying with service standards, work instructions and customers' requirements.
• Assisting with customers' queries and ensuring they are handled in a Timely manner.

Work conditions:
• The position is based Appliance World Limited – Kampala, Bugolobi with 50% time spent in the field.
• Normal working hours at Appliance World Ltd are 8.30am to 6.00pm Mondays to Saturdays. However, your hours of work, whilst not being less than those stipulated above, depend on the extent of your workload at any particular point in time.

Person Specification:
• Minimum of Diploma in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning.
• Must be very well versed with diagnosing and repairing of split type and VRF and MultiV type of systems.
• Must have worked on projects as a team leader/senior technician where a VRF system was installed.
• Must have worked as a senior technician for at least 5 years

Job Description
• Should ensure that the team members adhere to the highest quality standards and efficiency.
• Should keep equipment operating by enforcing operating instructions and troubleshoot breakdowns.
• Must generate project specifications, design philosophy, PFDs, P&IDs, calculations, operation manuals to comply with the clients’ requirement.
• Must carry out process simulations and develop heat and material balances.
• Must carry out hydraulic design for pumps, compressors, blowers and develop respective process datasheets.
• Must prepare design outputs, datasheets, and drawings and support the Construction Team during construction phase and carry out site checks.
• Must support the Commissioning Team during plant or unit startup and coordinate with Project Team and other Department Engineers to facilitate smooth progress of engineering work.

Requirements
• A minimum of a bachelor’s Degree in Piping or mechanical engineering or related majors.
• At least 5 years construction experience in oil field and 3 years commissioning experience.
