Our client, a leading freight and logistics Company seeks to recruit a qualified and competent person to fill the position of an Accountant in their Finance Department. The ideal candidate should be able to help the company in complying with all its statutory requirements and meeting other industry standards.

Job Description and specifications.
The position of an Accountant requires a person that is energetic, flexible and a team player. He/she should be hard working and able to work independently with minimal supervision, should be flexible with a high degree of integrity, should be eager to learn and contribute to the growth and development of the Finance Department.

Key responsibilities.
He/she will be responsible for;

• Providing timely financial reports, discussing these and interpreting financial information to the company’s management and the board both verbally and in writing.
• Monitoring and interpreting cash flows and predicting future trends.
• Analyzing of change in the business and advising accordingly.
• Formulation of strategic and long-term business plans and researching and reporting on factors influencing business performance.
• Developing financial management mechanisms aimed at managing risks in both Local and Export markets.
• Conducting reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction strategies and opportunities.
• Management of the company's financial accounting, monitoring and reporting systems.
• Handling both external and internal auditors, responding to audit queries and resolving all management letter points.
• Managing external relationships with key business stakeholders including lawyers, Company bankers, URA, KCCA, NSSF, Company Suppliers and Customers.
• Ensuring in the strictest sense compliance with statutory requirements. He/she will be responsible for preparation of the Company payroll.
• Production of accurate financial reports for management and external parties including auditors, to specific deadlines.
• Management of the company’s budgetary process including production of budgetary performance reports and enforcing budget discipline.
• Sourcing for funding for the company’s activities including management of working capital for the company.
• Keeping abreast with changes in financial reporting standards, tax regulations, employment laws and other pertinent legislation in Uganda.
• Be responsible for all supporting documentation for Company transactions and being in charge of the company fixed assets register

Reporting Lines.
The accountant is a senior position within the Company and reports to the Company’s Managing Director.

Academic & Experience Requirements.
• The ideal candidate should have obtained CPA level two and with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in an accounting and administration role, one of which must be at managerial or assistant managerial level.
• Possession of a bachelor’s degree in a business-related field, and majoring in accounting would be an added advantage.
• Proficient in using Accounting Software like Tally, Quick Books. He/she should also be thorough with Microsoft Office packages like Word, Excel, Access and Power Point.
• He/she must be excellent in report writing, possess strong organization and leadership skills.

Mission
The Account Manager is responsible for developing and implementing the Sales Account Plan to align SLB strategy with customer drivers. The Account Manager acts as the primary point of contact for the assigned account. This person maintains a thorough understanding of the account’s commercial and procurement organization, strategy, and direction, and maintains strong relationships with the relevant customer stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Identify and Capture Leads
• Develop Account / Location Sales Plans and Targets
• Collect Market Activity Intelligence

Additional Responsibilities
• Be responsible for the assigned customer activity forecasts in Global Account Capture.
• Identify sales leads and opportunities.
• Promote development of multi-Division and integrated opportunities.
• Maintain Cloud for Customer (C4C) account contacts and C4C account sales team; validate pipeline completeness.
• Develop influential relationships with key customer buying center stakeholders.
• Communicate customer drivers with GeoUnit and global account teams.
• Contribute to opportunity strategies and development.
• Own and update the Sales Account Plan, aligned with global account and Division drivers.
• Contribute to global account plans and ensure plans are aligned with GeoUnit strategy.

Experience & Exposures:
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in the oil and gas sector.
• Must have at least 1 years’ experience working as a Sales and Commercial Lead with an Oil field Services company.
• Must have experience using ComCAT, CRM, OFS Reporter.
• Must have experience supporting IOCs.
• Must have working knowledge of Wellheads and Christmas Trees
• Proven experience carrying out installation and maintenance of Wellheads and Christmas Trees
• Strong Communication skills.

Department: Finance and Support Services

Key Responsibilities:
In particular, he/she will:
• Be responsible for all financial and fiscal management aspects of company operations;
• Provide strategic leadership and coordination in the development and implementation of the 5-year business plan, financial management, accounting, budgeting, program, and system management efforts of the company;
• Oversee the preparation of the annual budget, monthly Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statements.
• Be responsible for enhancing the cash position of the Company; Be accountable for the development of a financial and operational strategy, metrics tied to that strategy, and the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results;
• Approve and coordinate changes and improvements in automated financial and management information systems for the company.
• Oversee the approval processing of revenue, expenditure, and position control documents, department budgets, mass salary updates, ledger and account maintenance, and data entry;
• Coordinate the preparation of financial statements, financial & management reports, special analyses, and information reports;
• Ensure appropriate and robust finance, accounting, billing, and auditing procedures;
• Ensure records systems are maintained in accordance with generally accepted financial standards, assist in obtaining the necessary licenses and insurance required to operate the business;
• Develop and implement purchasing and supply chain management; and
• As a member of the Leadership team, contribute and work collaboratively with all elements of day-to-day airline operations, including employee and customer relations, safety, revenue management, scheduling, strategic alliances, sales, brand management, product development, and customer service delivery.
• Ensure safe keeping of all company assets and stores and periodic audit of stores and that all assets are engraved
• Oversee the IT department and ensure full integration of the IT system
• Carry out the staff appraisals for the department

Minimum Qualification and Experience:
• An Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance, or a closely related and relevant field, from a recognized University.
• Full Accountancy professional qualification, such as ACCA, CPA, or equivalent qualification is a must.
• Must be a Member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU)
• Possession of a relevant Master’s Degree is an added advantage.
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in financial management in a large organization and at least 5-7 years in a Senior Management role in aviation.
• Knowledge of strategic planning, the budget process, cost recovery, and contract management is a must.
