JOB DETAILS:
General summary:
• The Information Systems Internal Auditor will perform information systems audits of considerable complexity and carry out investigations into reported irregularities.
• The IT Auditor will assist with audit functions such as identifying and assessing risks; assess IT security controls and communicate with various teams regarding audits and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
• Perform general and application control reviews for simple to complex information systems of the Institute.
• Perform information control reviews to include system development standards, operating procedures, system security, programming controls, communication controls, backup and disaster recovery, and system maintenance.
• Perform reviews of internal control procedures and security for systems under development and/or enhancements to current systems.
• Prepare audit finding memoranda and working papers to ensure that adequate documentation exists to support the completed audit and conclusions.
• Prepare and present written and oral reports and other technical information in a pertinent, concise, and accurate manner for distribution to management and presentation to the Board
Audit Committee.
• Consult with and advise staff on various operational issues related to computerized information systems, and on general business operations as needed.
• Follow up on external audit findings to ensure that Management has taken corrective action(s).
• Coordinate and interact with external auditors as may be required.
• Assist and train internal audit staff in the use of computerized audit techniques, and in developing methods for review and analysis of computerized information systems.
• Conduct operational, compliance, financial and investigative audits, as assigned.
• Offer support in identifying and evaluating the organization’s risk areas and provides input to the development of the Annual Audit Plan.
• Maintains current knowledge with respect to relevant state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and/or systems.
• Work under limited supervision with moderate latitude for initiative and independent judgment.
• Pursues professional development opportunities, including external and internal training and professional association memberships, and shares information gained with co-workers.

Qualifications and Experience:
• Broad knowledge of application of information systems risk and control practices.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics NAV is preferable.
• Standards for the Professional Information Systems Audit and Control as developed by ISACA.
• Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing and the Code of Ethics developed by the Institute of Internal Auditors.
• Knowledge of auditing concepts and principles.
• Working knowledge and experience with general computer controls including Change Management, Access and Security, and IT Operations.
• Knowledge of Internal Audit software preferred.
• Knowledge and fundamental understanding of the following types of audits: (a) financial statement audits, (b) internal or operational audits,
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and standards governing all aspects of the utilization of computer systems.
• Analytical skills, judgment, and decision-making ability.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a science related field.
• CISA Certification required. Possession of CIA or CISSP will be added advantage
• At least 3 years’ experience in area of specialization (IS auditing, business analysis, or process assurance);

IT Officer - Uganda Country Office
Job Description

We seek to recruit an IT Officer who will be responsible for providing effective and efficient technical and administrative support to enable the smooth functioning of PATH Uganda office. The IT Officer will work with the larger International IT team in driving the use of technology in the organization, helping implement IT standards and policies, and providing technical support and solutions to meet the needs of the organization. The role will support the network infrastructure, end user support, management of software applications, hardware equipment among other routine IT and administrative tasks. The IT Officer will be based in Kampala, Uganda.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities Technical Support
Provide support for day-to-day office IT operations and management of IT systems in place (PABX, Biometric access system, Audio Visual system, CCTV, ISP )
• Responsible for new laptop setup, troubleshooting and
• Periodic maintenance of IT equipment and coordinate with external vendors when applicable and overseeing overall equipment maintenance.
• Liaising with Service providers and IT vendors for technical support and escalations
• Assist in local area network (LAN) setup, management and troubleshooting.
• Performing operating system upgrades by installing software patches when necessary
• Basic Active Directory administration
• Setup new users as well as carrying out IT onboardings and
• Liaise with the Regional Systems Administrator and /or International IT Team for support and
• Conduct periodic IT audits for compliance
• Work with global IT team in rolling out Global technical solutions and
• Proactively monitor ICT systems and troubleshoot any incidences affecting service availability and
• Custodian of specific software licenses for the Uganda office and ensuring they are renewed

Asset management
Assist in maintaining ICT inventory log of all hardware and tracking hardware needs projections for planning
• Ensure users are fully signed out of all equipment received and

Communication
In-charge of communication systems; telephones, mail and courier services
• Oversee management of telephone expenses by use of telephone

Other Duties
• Maintain day to day system operations and other functions as assigned by the Site
Required Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in IT/Computer Science or any related
• CompTIA A+, N+, or CCNA certification an added
• At least 2 years of work experience in Information Systems implementation and network infrastructure support and
• End user support experience including hardware and software experience setup, installation and
• Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft PC operating systems, Office 365, Windows Server Administration and networking technologies, such as VPN, firewalls, and various LAN technologies.
