Qualifications:

An Ordinary Diploma in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning from a recognized University or Institution.

Other requirements:
Should have excellent communication, and interpersonal skills, high integrity and a community service ethic.

Duties and Responsibilities:
a) Planning, Installing, maintaining and servicing refrigerators and other cold chain equipment.
b) Identifying and repairing minor faults at site
c) Preparing and keeping an up-to-date cold chain inventory.
d) Adhering to professional Code of Conduct and ethics.
e) Report major faults to Assistant Engineering Officer
f) Participating in immunization programs
g) Participating in enforcement of guidelines for safe storage of vaccines and other medicines.
h) Compiling and submitting reports.
i) Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Watoto is seeking to recruit a Laboratory Technician to support in planning, preparing, and delivering high standards of education at the Watoto Schools.

Key Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to)
• To plan, prepare and deliver practical lessons to learners and ensure high standards of professional practice, quality of teaching and learning of the subjects.
• To plan, prepare and conduct practical lessons according to the set standard operation procedures of Watoto schools.
• Ensure laboratory stock management, quality assurance, sanitization and safety of the teachers and learners in the laboratory
• To implement teaching programs that are consistent with the ethos of the school and the curriculum guidelines.
• To guide and advice learners on educational and social matters in order to support the young people in making good career choices.
• To carry out appropriate, fair, just assessment and evaluation of learner's progress and keep records of all their assessment on file.
• To demonstrate good stewardship of resources and property in the school by ensuring the safe custody and optimum use of equipment assigned.
• To promote the general progress and well-being of individual learners and always ensure the safety and welfare of learners
• To create a learning space where the needs of the learners and teachers are met, respected, and protected.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience.
• The applicant for the Laboratory Technician position should have a diploma in Medical Laboratory with an interest in microbiology. A degree in Laboratory Science shall be an added advantage.
• At least two (2) years’ experience in teaching.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills. High degree of flexibility and initiative. Commitment to work within a team environment and ability to work under minimal supervision
