Responsibilities
A. Key Responsibilities

The Driver will be in charge of;
• Safe and responsible driving of office vehicles.
• Routine maintenance and care of office vehicles.
• Takes careful note of all available information concerning street conditions, effective routes, and locations.
• Running official errands and assisting with other office services.
The Driver performs the following tasks:
B. Specific Tasks
1. Maintenance of Cars
• Regularly clean the inside and outside of the office vehicle.
• Checks oil, water, brake, and clutch fluids daily; tyre pressure, battery water, and overall vehicle condition monthly or after 5000 km whichever comes earlier; tests lights, brakes, bodywork for dents, etc.
• Reports the need for maintenance and undertakes minor repairs.
• Immediately reports any involvement of the project/office vehicle in any, even minor accidents, or any damage or theft of equipment from the vehicle.
• Logs in vehicle movement in vehicle logbook correctly & accurately daily and registers each monthly check.
• Compiles driver reports on the condition of the vehicle.
2. Road Information
• Uses all available information (incl. actual radio news on traffic situations) to update knowledge of street conditions, effective routes, and locations daily.
• Exchanges this information with other drivers.
3. General Services
• Wears proper attire.
• Serves all passengers in a friendly manner.
• Runs errands for the GIZ Office e.g. delivery of letters/messages, payment of bills, and makes minor purchases as directed.
• Is responsible for official documents in the vehicle.
• Is responsible for a special petty cash and submits vouchers for accounting monthly.
• Does not use, at any time, the car for his/her own private purposes. Such misuse of the vehicle is considered a serious misconduct and will immediately lead to a warning and may result in dismissal.
• Does not drink alcohol before and during working hours.
Other Duties/Additional Tasks
• If there is no outside driving activity, s/he stands by in the office, supports other colleagues in case of need and does other office work as assigned.
• Reports any incident whilst off duty that may affect his/her driving licence entitlement, as well as any newly known health problems that may affect his/her ability to drive.
• Undertakes further job training related to his/her position and duties, if required.
• Performs other duties and tasks at the request of management.

Qualifications
Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (“A” Level).
Details of experience
• At least 5 years of working experience as a driver, with references.
• Experience in driving in difficult terrain.

Job description
The Head Purchases and Logistics will be accountable for operating and monitoring the Supply Network procurement functions, as designed, to meet the defined response time, cost, quality and lean targets enabling optimal and efficient operations, collaborating with business partners and suppliers, and resolving facility specific supplier issues.

Roles and Responsibilities
• Develops appropriate supply chain strategy to ensure quality at the lowest possible cost.
• Leads the supply chain team in executing best practices and measuring performance through agreed upon Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Directs and coordinates supply chain functions through strategy, resource optimization, profitability maximization, and KPIs
• Plans, manages, and coordinates all activities related to the sourcing and procurement of necessary materials and supplies needed to meet the company requirements
• Responsible for formulating document system and work procedure in order to ensure the standardization of work
• Responsible for formulating and supervising delivery plan
• To ensure the logistics plan is implemented to meet the delivery and cost requirements

Qualifications
• Minimum requirement is for an undergraduate degree in a business-related field or Supply Chain.
• Professional certification in logistics and supply chain management

Skills and experience
• A minimum of 8 years of related experience with a minimum of 4 years in a management role.
• Strong verbal, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
• Experience in Strategic Sourcing, supplier negotiations, contract management techniques, Logistics and Inventory Management.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Excellent Communication, project management and problem-solving skills
• Strong MS Office skills with Excel, Power Point, and Word.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists.

Job Summary: Under the guidance of the logistics/fleet officer, the driver is responsible for the Operation and maintenance of LWF motor vehicles and ensuring the safety and security of authorized passengers, cargo, equipment, and tools on board. Main Duties &


Responsibilities:
• Always drive at the responsible speed as permitted by the Laws of Uganda (respect for speed limits) while on the road and ensure program staff/materials/equipment are safe while on board.
• Maintaining the assigned motor vehicle and its accessories (log books, jacks, wheel spanners, spare tires, etc.) in good working order and clean condition and making a thorough daily check of its mechanical condition (e. g. battery, fuel, water oil, brake fluid, tire pressure, etc.) and promptly report any fault, damage or loss.
• Checking regularly and ensuring that vehicles have valid road license and motor third party insurance and assist as required in following up their processing and collection from the bank, insurance companies, and Uganda Revenue Authority offices,
• Monitors the vehicle fuel gauge constantly, and reports any need for re-fuelling. Ensure the vehicle is refueled during the evening time to maximize time for field operation from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
• Ensure every trip is documented in the vehicle log book, particularly departure/arrival times and mileage readings, as well as vehicle repairs/service and fuel and lubricants consumption, and reports the due service mileage in good time;
• Complies strictly with the official highway code and traffic rules and regulations while driving, as well as the relevant LWF policies and procedures;
• Conveys staff, visitors, and any other authorized personnel on official duty as well as program equipment and materials in a safe and secure manner;
• Ensures all vehicle doors and windows are securely locked after working hours, prior to handing over the keys to the logistics officer or at the nearest central police station while on an over a mission.
• Verifies repair/service done by a mechanic on return of the vehicle from a garage to confirm all the required parts are replaced;
• Promptly reports to the logistics officer and/or the police all accidents and problems encountered while on duty;
• Ensures all none staff sign for accident waiver before boarding LWF vehicle and all accident waivers MUST be approved before embarking on the journey;
• Ensure the vehicles are well equipped with first kits kit at all time

Other:

• Undertake other related duties as may reasonably be assigned by the Supervisor.
• Ensures strict adherence to the principles of child protection/psychosocial support at all times including respect for confidentiality and a child centered approach, and act in the best interests of the persons of concern.
• Commitments to and understanding of LWF aims, values and principles including rights-based approach.
• The staff must ensure that organization assets are maintained and taken care of.">
Education, Qualification & Experience required:
A minimum of Ordinary Level Education, A Certificate in Defensive Driving, and Must hold a valid driving license with classes B, CM, DL, and DM. At least have 2-3 years of professional driving experience in field operations on murram roads with the ability to work under pressure/emergency situations, proven knowledge on the use of manual vehicles, have a good command of the English language and ability to communicate effectively (written/spoken), have good report writing skills, a team playerTwo or more years of work experience as a Driver, preferably in an International organization with a multicultural setting.

Special Skills, Aptitude, or Personality Requirements:
• Knowledge of driving rules and regulations, driver protocol and courtesies, local roads/waterways and conditions, and security issues.
• Knowledge of safety standards and safety equipment (e.g., fire extinguishers, buoyant wearable safety devices) and also knowledge of first aid basic methods.
• Available and willing to travel and work in hard-to-reach areas, occasionally under strenuous conditions.
• Excellent time management and planning capacity.
• Good knowledge of the English Language.
• Ability to assess vehicles for mechanical fitness and skills in minor vehicle repairs.
