JOB DETAILS:
Our client
Our client is a vertically integrated social enterprise producing specialty cocoa and craft chocolate at origin in Uganda. They are a certified B-corporation company and work closely with farmers in different regions of Uganda. Their aim is to create a sustainable and traceable supply chain of cocoa and improve the livelihoods of the farmers. The team currently consists of approximately 100 people and is growing rapidly.
The role
To support and guide the continuous growth our client is looking for a finance manager to be based in Kampala. You will be responsible for all finance activities within the company. On a daily basis you will work closely with the founder and serve as a second in command.
Key responsibilities
- Responsible for all finance activities within the company
- Responsible for setting up and improving finance processes
- Reporting and maintaining contact with donors and investors from a finance perspective
- Management of the accountancy team
- Guide the set-up of a new ERP system (Odoo)
- Manage the bookkeeping for the Ugandan and European entities
- Serve as a second in command for the founder
Candidate profile
- Strong financial and accountancy background
- Multiple years of work experience as accountant or at an accountancy firm
- CPA or chartered certified accountant
- Experience in a start-up or scale-up environment is a plus
- A reliable, communicative and hands-on professional
- Willing to relocate to Kampala
