Company Overview
Our client is a leading player in Uganda’s automotive and mobility sector, with a strong presence in the motorcycle market. The organization specializes in the distribution and retail of motorcycles, spare parts, after-sales services, local motorcycle assembly, and asset financing, supported by a growing branch and distribution network across Uganda. Its financing business provides customers with access to motorcycle finance and is expanding into smartphone financing, creating an integrated business across mobility, retail, and financial services.
Position Summary
The Brand Manager will be responsible for building, protecting, and growing the company’s brands through clear positioning, strong marketing strategy, and effective execution. The role will lead brand strategy, marketing planning, campaigns, product launches, and brand performance, while setting the creative and communication direction for the content and design team.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Develop the brand strategy and annual and quarterly marketing calendar, aligned with the overall business objectives.
- Lead marketing projects from planning through execution, ensuring timelines, budgets, and deliverables are achieved.
- Own product launches and promotional campaigns, including new motorcycle models and the launch of the smartphone-financing business.
- Develop and execute competitive responses based on market activity, competitor campaigns, customer trends, and changing market conditions.
- Set the overall content and design direction and brief and guide the Content Lead and Brand Designer to ensure all creative work supports the brand strategy.
- Work closely with the Marketing Head, Content Manager, Brand Designer, agencies, media partners, and other internal teams to deliver effective campaigns.
- Own brand budgets and monitor marketing performance, campaign effectiveness, and return on investment.
- Monitor market trends, customer insights, and competitor activity to identify opportunities and inform brand strategy.
- Maintain consistent brand positioning, messaging, and visual identity across all branches, campaigns, digital platforms, and customer touchpoints.
- Evaluate campaign and brand performance and use insights to continuously improve marketing effectiveness.
- Move extensively across Uganda to understand market conditions, support marketing activities, and ensure consistent brand execution across the branch network.
Qualifications and Experience
- 5–8 years of experience in brand or marketing management, preferably within a consumer-facing sector.
- Strong experience in brand strategy, campaign management, market research, budgeting, and stakeholder management.
- Proven experience managing product launches and integrated marketing campaigns from planning through execution.
- Strong understanding of consumer marketing, brand positioning, content direction, and market development.
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects end-to-end and coordinate multiple stakeholders, including agencies, media partners, and internal teams.
- Strong analytical, communication, creative, and project-management skills.
- Commercially minded, with the ability to connect brand and marketing activity to business objectives and measurable results.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively across Uganda.
