Description

UGAFODE Microfinance Limited (MDI) is hiring a Credit Analyst responsible for analyzing credit data and financial information of credit/loan applicants including individuals, groups and institutions to help make decisions on lending and credit-worthiness by determining the risk that the institution will not recoup funds loaned in line with UGAFODE (MDI) credit policy, processes and procedures.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring good loan Portfolio Quality: Ensure good loan portfolio quality in the Region/branches under supervision/attachment.
  • Loan Applications Analysis: Analyze and evaluate clients’ loan applications and financial statements in order to determine credit worthiness and the degree of risk involved in lending money for applications (i.e. All loans that are 5M and above) in compliance with UGAFODE credit policies and procedures and ensuring timely and quality lending decisions are made.
  • Support with Capacity building: Takes full responsibility for guiding Relationship officers, Credit Business Supervisors, Branch Business Managers and Regional Business Manager charged with fulfilling credit functions of the institution with credit training, analysis and support in guaranteeing a good loan portfolio process for UGAFODE (MDI) Ltd.
  • Loan compliance: Conducts daily monitoring of client’s loan performance in line with agreed terms and conditions of the respective loans and per set credit policy and procedures at UGAFODE to guarantee a qualitative loan portfolio.
  • Reporting: Prepares reports (daily) about degree of risk in lending money to clients, client loan compliance/non-compliance, over all loan performance and trend analysis in loan repayments as well as any feedback to support a qualitative portfolio among others.
  • Support with debt recovery efforts: Liaises with Regional Business Manager, Credit Business Supervisors, Branch Business Managers and Relationship Officers to ensure recovery of written-off loans and minimizing loan loss provisions in the assigned region/branches.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related filed.
  • Experience in branch management is desired
  • Experience in credit supervision, Analysis, etc. is preferable
  • At least 3 years’ experience in credit application processing
  • Knowledge of credit administration and management
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent credit underwriting skills & competencies, networking and stakeholder management.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adhere to strict deadlines.
  • Strong Planning, organizing, Monitoring, Analytical and Customer service skills.
  • Teamwork, Influencing, Negotiation skills and Business drive.
