BRAC Uganda Bank Ltd is hiring a Human Resource Business Partner (Northern) to drive the achievement of business and overall bank objectives through the implementation of human resource strategies, policies, and practices. In partnership with Heads of Departments, Divisional Managers, and Line Supervisors, the HR Business Partner (HRBP) provides consultancy services to enable the delivery of best practices and HR-focused solutions to BRAC Uganda Bank Ltd.

This position serves as a liaison between the business lines and HR to ensure fulfilment of human resource needs such as recruitment, performance management, compensation, career development, talent management, grievance handling, among others.

Reports to: Manager, Culture and Engagement

Main Job Responsibilities

1. Manpower Planning

  • Analyse resource gaps and maintain required headcount
  • Recruitment and induction
  • Career and succession planning
  • Probationary, leave, and exit management

2. Organisational Design and Change Management

  • Monitor appropriate use of various employee contracts and staff resources
  • Support and manage change initiatives
  • Drive and deliver HR initiatives to support business objectives
  • Partner with operational management teams to identify areas and opportunities for improvement

3. Learning and Development Management

  • Conduct training needs assessments
  • Facilitate career conversations
  • Support talent management initiatives

4. Performance Management

  • Instil a performance-driven culture
  • Coordinate performance appraisals
  • Manage feedback processes
  • Handle Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs)

5. Employee Relations

  • Interpret and implement HR policies and procedures
  • Attend to employee grievances and complaints
  • Ensure workplace harmony

6. Safeguarding

  • Read, understand, practice, promote, and endorse safeguarding policies
  • Ensure implementation of safeguarding standards in all actions
  • Follow safeguarding reporting procedures and encourage others to do so

7. Additional HR Support

  • Support other HR roles as required, including operational issues such as payroll

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Management, Economics, or a related field
  • Postgraduate degree in Human Resource Management is an added advantage
  • At least 3 years’ experience as an HR Generalist, HR Business Partner, or in Employee Relations, Change Management, or Team Development roles
