Director Professional Development

Minimum Working Experience:

Applicants should have a minimum of eight (8) years of working experience with at least 4 years must have been at the manager level handling training function in finance related Institutions or Head of the department in a reputable training Institution

Critical Work Functions For The Role:
• Develop and implement a strategy for promoting Professional Development in the financial sector as per the Institute's mandate
• Develop, and implement programs and policies that promote training excellence and partnership in the Institute
• Oversee planning, development, and implementation of short courses, and academic and professional courses programs.
• Lead the development of competence frameworks for the various financial sector and promote their implementation in the sector
• Undertake a periodic critical self-assessment and evaluation of the Institute’s training and professional development programs
• Develop and implement a criterion for identifying and recruiting competent resource personnel for all the courses offered by the Institute
• Establish monitoring and measurement mechanisms to evaluate the effectiveness of all professional development efforts
• Develop and implement a strategy for partnering with donor Agencies and financial services players in the joint development of training programs as well as the generation of proposals to access funding.
• Prepare and implement a budget for the Directorate of Professional Development as per the Institute’s financial management policies
• Chair management academic committees on academic programs and examinations
• Design and implement a mechanism for identifying risks and associated mitigation plan for Professional Development Directorate
• Prepare regular Management, Board reports and attend Board Meetings on the invitation
• Monitor the staff performance under your jurisdiction, and provide coaching and mentoring for better staff performance

Director Business Development, Marketing, and Membership

• Plan and oversee the implementation of Membership activities in line with the Institute’s objectives
• Develop and implement the Institute's marketing and business promotion strategy in line with the Institute’s strategic plan.
• Lead the Institute's research and development process and the dissemination of findings on the emerging trends in the banking and financial service industry
• Develop business proposals to enable UIBFS to access business as well as funding opportunities and negotiate with stakeholders
• Oversee the provision of library services and learning resources to the members in line with the Institute’s objectives
• Develop the consultancy concept and promote excellent consultancy delivery in line with the agreed-upon milestones
• Design and implement programs for improving the Institute's public image, plan and organize functions and activities to improve membership engagement
• Set benchmarks for the growth of the Institute business for different business areas and manage stakeholder interests/concerns/expectations in line with the business plan.
• Plan and conduct research on banking and finance topical issues including market and competitive trends and disseminate the results to the members of the Institute
• Responsible for overall coordination of strategic plan preparation and monitoring of Institute business performance

Manager Finance and Accounting

• An honors degree in Information Technology or computer science or computer engineering and other relevant courses from a recognized University

• Developing and implementing information and communications technology (ICT) strategy and making decisions about the ICT systems utilized in line with the Institute’s objectives and budget.
• Lead IT projects, including the design and deployment of new IT systems and services
• Monitor the performance of information technology systems to determine cost and productivity levels, and to make recommendations for improving the IT infrastructure

• Support the development of long-term organizational strategy, and coordinate the Strategic planning content development across all the businesses in the Institute as per the strategic Planning process guidelines and framework
• Support the alignment of departmental goals, processes, and resource allocation with the organizational strategy.
• Monitor the development and execution of the approved strategic plan across the business unit and generate relevant reports
• Identify cost improvement opportunities and hidden costs across the Institute and advise management
• Review and evaluate the implementation of the quality management system frameworks in the directorates
• Assess market trends and competitors and coordinate the strategic review process, and corporate score cards as well as compile quarterly and bi-annual reports generated from all Institute business units and projects in line with the approved strategic plans
• Compile information on long-term trends and outlook analysis to provide input into the strategic plan review sessions
• Prospect for, plan, and coordinate the implementation of consultancy assignments in the Institute.
• Plan, implement, and manage proposed recommendations and projects.

Training & Program Development Officer

• Carry out capacity building needs analysis for the assigned portfolio and propose products to satisfy the needs
• Develop proposals for the provision of training services to potential customers in line with the Institute’s objectives
• Identify and maintain a pool of competent resources persons for the capacity-building programs offered by the Institute as per the Human Resources Manual
• Identify and formalize a partnership with firms/Institutes in offering capacity-building services to the Institute’s Clientele
