ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for energetic, well-organized Marketing Field Officers to grow our presence on construction sites, projects, and within the trade community.
You will be the face of DEPO Premium and FOSTER Builders Warehouse in the field – prospecting for projects, building relationships with contractors and artisans, and feeding qualified leads into the sales pipeline.
This role is key to expanding our field sales stream, currently our most under-utilized route to market.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct daily site visits and field prospecting to identify ongoing and upcoming construction projects.
- Build and maintain relationships with contractors, artisans and technicians (roofers, plumbers, electricians, welders, tillers, fitters), and site supervisors.
- Distribute marketing materials, samples, and product information at sites and trade events.
- Generate and log leads for the sales team, tracking follow-up and conversion.
- Represent both the DEPO Premium and FOSTER BWH brands appropriately depending on the customer segment (premium vs. budget).
- Gather market intelligence – new projects, competitor activity, customer needs – and report back to the BDM.
- Support promotional activities, product launches, and showroom events.
- Submit regular activity and visit reports (daily/weekly).
REQUIREMENTS
- Diploma or degree in Marketing, Sales, Business, or a related field (or equivalent field experience).
- 1-3 years’ experience in field sales/marketing, ideally in construction, building materials, hardware, or FMCG.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable engaging contractors and artisans on-site.
- Self-motivated, target-driven, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good knowledge of the local construction/project landscape is an advantage.
- Valid driver’s license/motorbike license preferred; willingness to travel extensively within the territory.
KEY SUCCESS METRICS
- A steady, growing volume of qualified leads generated from field visits each month.
- Strong, active relationships with contractors and artisans across assigned territory.
- Accurate, consistent activity reporting that feeds the sales pipeline.
