Company Overview:
Our client is a leading telecom tower infrastructure company in Uganda, focused on providing sustainable, hybrid energy-powered tower sites to support connectivity across the country. They manage around 360 tower sites and are part of a larger pan-African group committed to bridging the digital divide, emphasizing reliable network solutions with minimal environmental impact. Our client is seeking a reliable Network Deployment Manager to lead their telecom infrastructure projects.
Key responsibilities:
- The Network Deployment Manager/Projects Manager is the head of deployment of operator projects and ensures timely, accurate tracking of the projects and communication of the same to various interest groups or persons as requested or authorized.
- To ensure the planning, organizing, monitoring and control projects within a specific region or country; responsible for process, resources, project finances and compliance. Taking lead all construction of large-scale infrastructure programs within the company
- Coordinator of all inputs to trigger site construction: Site candidate search, TSS, permitting and HOC.
- Coordinates, evaluates and approves designs.
- Prepares BOQ and supports SCM with Cost evaluations
- Collaborate with engineers, architects etc. to determine the specifications of the project
- Negotiate contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements
- Obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities
- Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations
- Plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met
- Acquire equipment and material and monitor stocks to timely handle inadequacies
- Hire contractors and other staff and allocate responsibilities
- Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports
- Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues
- Ensure Quality is Controlled and adhered to in line with the Project Specifications
- Cost Control is key to avoid working out of the Budget limits.
- Service Delivery Timelines in accordance to the client delivery deadlines.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A BSC degree or HND in Electrical/ Telecom engineering. Certification in Project management an added advantage
- Minimum 3-5 years in telecommunications projects environment
- Telecoms passive and active infrastructure, Structures and Civils, Project Management systems, MS Projects, MS Office suite
- Leadership, people management, crisis management, resource planning, forecasting, performance driven, analytical, task orientated, accurate and attention to detail.
- Possess a valid driver’s license.
- Excellent prioritization and organizational skills
- Excellent English language communication skills both written and oral
- Ability to work and deliver under pressure
- Skills in people management
- Understanding and experience of Health & Safety guidelines, procedures and processes.
- Commercial awareness
- An understanding of diversity and how it relates to the role.
- Ability to interpret and implement project PIPs.
- Culture: Ability to work in a community with diverse cultures and Races
- Ability to have a working Environment in a “Group” Organizational Culture and understand change management and Process and Procedures.
