Rakai Health Sciences Program is seeking to hire individuals for the position of Research Assistant-Enrolled Nurse. This role is based in Kalisizo, Kyotera District, and there are 4 positions available.
Key responsibility
The key responsibilities for this role include:
- Recruit and enroll study participants in line with study protocols.
- Obtain informed consent and conduct participant interviews.
- Collect accurate research data and complete study documentation.
- Conduct household census, surveys, and validate participant information.
- Provide health education, HIV counseling, and participant follow-up where applicable.
- Collect, label, and safely transport biological specimens while adhering to biosafety standards.
- Provide basic clinical care and referrals as required.
- Maintain participant confidentiality and ensure high-quality data collection.
- Safeguard assigned equipment and support daily community field activities, including motorcycle travel where required.
Qualifications
The qualifications required for this position are:
- The successful candidate should hold a Certificate in comprehensive nursing or Certificate in nursing.
- Working experience of at least 1 year in a reputable health organization.
- Experience in human subject's research (Added advantage).
- Willingness to reside in Rakai / Kyotera districts.
- Fluent in Luganda.
- Experience in Motorcycle riding for long distances with a valid riding permit (Class A) (Added advantage).
