Future Options Consulting Ltd is recruiting on behalf of a reputable public sector development institution in Uganda with a mandate to promote strategic investments, economic development, research, and sustainable growth across key sectors of the economy.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To support strategic planning processes and assist in mobilising resources for the organisation’s projects and initiatives. This role involves contributing to the development of plans and strategies to achieve the Organization’s development goals and supporting the effective acquisition of financial and non-financial resources.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Execution of Resource Mobilisation Strategy

  • Collaborate with the leadership to develop and implement a comprehensive resource mobilisation strategy that aligns with the corporation's strategic objectives.
  • Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of the resource mobilisation strategy and adapt it to meet evolving organisational needs and market conditions.

Grant Proposal and Funding Application Management

  • Prepare compelling, data-driven grant proposals, concept notes, and funding applications to secure diverse funding sources, including governmental, international, and private sector partnerships.
  • Oversee the entire grant and funding lifecycle, ensuring timely submission, compliance with partner requirements, and proper reporting on fund utilisation.

Risk Management and Mitigation

  • Support in Identification, assessment, and managing risks associated with strategic planning and resource mobilisation efforts, including financial, operational, and regulatory risks.
  • Implement risk mitigation strategies to address potential challenges such as funding gaps, project delays, and unforeseen economic or regulatory changes.

Contract and Scope Management

  • Negotiate, reassess, and amend contracts, proposals, and budgets with clients, partners, and partners as necessary to reflect project scope changes, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
  • Conduct thorough market and industry research to identify new and relevant funding opportunities to secure sustainable project funding.

Project Reporting and Accountability

  • Prepare and present internal and external project reports, highlighting key performance indicators, progress milestones, and financial updates for management, funders, and stakeholders.

Exploration of Innovative Funding Models

  • Assist in researching and analysing alternative funding models, such as impact investing, blended finance, and social enterprise partnerships, to support the diversification of the organization’s funding streams.
  • Proactively engage with emerging financial trends to leverage untapped opportunities in resource mobilisation.

Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration

  • Foster collaboration with internal departments, external stakeholders, and strategic partners to align resource mobilisation efforts with the broader organisational and sector objectives.
  • Actively engage with government bodies, development agencies, and financial institutions to build partnerships and alliances that enhance funding capabilities.

Monitoring and Evaluation of Resource Mobilisation Efforts

  • Develop systems to track and evaluate the effectiveness of resource mobilisation initiatives, ensuring that strategies are delivering measurable outcomes and meeting fundraising targets.
  • Provide regular feedback to the leadership team on resource mobilisation performance and recommend adjustments based on real-time analysis and feedback from stakeholders.

Perform any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors’ degree in economics, statistics, quantitative economics or related areas.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in project planning & management, monitoring and evaluation or related field

  • Six (6) years of experience in a similar function.

  • Skills and knowledge in Management Information Systems.
  • High level of professionalism and integrity.
  • Excellent communication, analytical and computing skills.
  • Bachelors’ degree in economics, statistics, quantitative economics or related areas.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in project planning & management, monitoring and evaluation or related field
