JOB DETAILS:
In 1995 Epicentre created a permanent research centre in Uganda to support MSF projects in the region The primary role of Epicentre in Mbarara IS to conduct clinical research following Good Clinical Practice (GCP) requirements on critical public health burdens in Uganda and Africa. To reach this objective, Epicentre collaborates closely with the Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST). A full-time experienced research team is based at the Epicentre Mbarara Research Centre. The Mbarara research centre is located in Mbarara Municipality, 300 km South-West to Kampala.
Posistion: Senior Research Assistant
Location: MSF/Epicentre Mbarara Research Centre in (EMRC), Uganda.
Reports to: The Principal Investigator (Pl) and the director of MSF Epicentre Mbarara Research Centre.
Duration: 6 months initially with possibility of extension.

General responsibilities (not exhaustive)
As part of the multidisciplinary clinical research team, the SRA will be in charge of:
• Planning and coordinating the various activities related to the trial. The tasks include (but are not limited to)
• Maintenance, recruitment and clinical care for study clients, and establishment of procedures in compliance to the protocol, good clinical practice (GCP) and ethical standards,
• Coordination of the daily implementation of the study.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB)
• A master's degree in paediatrics(preferably) or a health related field is mandatory
• Good clinical practice certificate.
• Clinical experience in internal medicine and/or infectious Diseases and/or Respiratory Medicine.
• Full registration with the Uganda Medical and dental Practitioners’ Council (UMDPC), current practicing license.
• Previous experience in clinical research.
• Knowledge of MS Office
• Fluent in English and Runyankore, spoken
