Background

Sugar Corporation of Uganda Limited is part of Mehta Group of Companies and the leading producer of mill white sugar in the Country, situated at Uganda. We are seeking to recruit suitably qualified persons to fill the following position:

Responsibilities

Planning, execution, monitoring and roll out of Aromatic crop culture development activities through regular visits and reviews.

Development of protocols, package of practices for food use and Natural farming.

Provide overall assistance to the Crop Development and Operation Manager in the management of the project.

Prepare periodic reports on the status of the food staff project updating its Crop Development and Operation Manager on the progress.

Developing and executing capacity building plans for the project staff on farm livelihoods and value chain development.

Develop manuals and guidelines to facilitate implementation of value chain development.

Identifying document best practices.

Coordination with the Technical Support Agencies for development and implementation of Medicinal & Aromatic farming.

Ensuring data collection and entry into M18 for monitoring and evaluation.

Qualifications and Experience

Qualification : M.Sc./B.Sc. Agriculture & Allied subjects

Age: Maximum 35years

Experience: 3+ years.

Knowledge of organic farming methods, Aero-ecological practices in Agricultural sector

Knowledge in organic procedures, especially certification requirements under EU legislation.

Ethical hands on experience on a large and livelihood development project or in an equitable industry of Middle management level, responsible for promotion of organic agriculture practices and Allied activities - based livelihoods or Managing commodity business in scale, certification, sourcing, value addition, marketing etc.

Knowledge of compliance for both export and domestic markets for Acornicis Brisbane.

Experience in linking up systems and processes to ensure food safe and organic farming in the targeted geographic.

Good analytical and digitizing skills, data analysis and conceptualisation of skills, ability to write conclusions, protocols etc. and make effective presentations.

Ability to build and sustain effective partnerships with different stakeholders.

Proven ability to coordinate the work of others and provide as part of a team and share knowledge with others.

Demonstrated openness to change and ability to manage complex situations.

Analyze problems carefully and logically leading to rich based and practical recommendations.

Previous knowledge of procurement/Marketing/Supply chain food safe and Organic Agricultural products.

Remunerations

Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
