SUPPLY OF HIGH-GRADE IN-CALF JERSEY HEIFERS AND BREEDING BULLS (SAHIWAL, BORAN, BRAHMAN) UNDER UCSATP EVOUCHER SYSTEM
The Government of the Republic of Uganda, through the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAiF), is implementing the Uganda Climate Smart Agricultural Transformation Project (UCSATP) with support from the World Bank. As part of this initiative, the project will facilitate farmer groups to access improved dairy and beef genetics through the acquisition of high-grade in-calf Jersey heifers and breeding bulls (Sahiwal, Boran, Brahman).
MAAiF hereby invites eligible and competent livestock suppliers, breeders, and certified importers to undergo verification and be enlisted on the UCSATP e-voucher platform. Under this system, farmer groups will digitally request and pay for the livestock. Only verified and accredited suppliers will be shortlisted, and enlistment does not constitute a contract with UCSATP.
Quollified suppliers will be expected to provide high-grade in-calf jersey heifers or breeding bulls (Sahiwal, Boran, Brahman – high grade) meeting MAAiF/UCSATP approved specifications including, but not limited to; pedigree records/ specified genetic purity, health certification, age requirements, welfare compliance, and transport/quarantine standards. Detailed technical specifications for each livestock category can be accessed on MAAiF website.
Applicants must be:
Legally registered companies, breeders or certified livestock importers
Able to demonstrate capacity to supply livestock meeting MAAiF standards
Operating approved breeding farms or having formal agreements with such facilities
Compliant with international sourcing, pre-shipment inspection, quarantine, animal welfare, and biosecurity requirements
Capable of providing documentation on pedigree, certification, health status, and import/export compliance
Willing to operate under the UCSATP e-voucher system (no direct contracts).
Interested suppliers must submit:
Leiter of Expression of Interest (EOI) addressed by the National Project Coordinator.
Company/form profile, ownership, and physical address
List of proposed livestock with available numbers and source farms (Demonstrated capacity to supply required breeds and quantities)
Proof of Previous supply experience related to cattle (local or international)
Proof of availability of Quarantine facilities and Transport facilities
