About the job

Job Description

We are running a confidential executive search on behalf of a dominant, homegrown Ugandan Out-of-Home (OOH) media powerhouse. With a localized market presence, premier site inventory and operational scale that rivals and encompasses the dominance of their peers, our client is heavily invested in shaping the national outdoor advertising landscape.

As they aggressively expand their Ugandan footprint, they require a highly commercial, dynamic - to take full ownership of in-country business operations. In this critical position, you will act as the driving force behind the region's commercial success, co-ordinating sales, business development, operations and finance to consistently deliver the country's Million Shilling budget.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Executive Committee, Regional Director, Territory Manager, and Regional Operations Manager, you will serve as the commercial anchor for the territory. Your mandate encompasses:

  • Commercial Leadership: Own the country's sales budget and targets, structure complex deals involving gross profit margins and bundling and mentor the local Media Sales Executive.
  • Stakeholder & Asset Management: Build robust relationships with every key client and landlord to ensure a 100% renewal hit-rate three months in advance, while ensuring the site database accurately reflects all on-the-ground assets.
  • Strategic Business Development: Identify and convert new business opportunities alongside regional sales teams, and drive site development through new acquisitions, landlord negotiations and council applications.
  • End-to-End Operational Delivery: Oversee all logistical elements of the business, including flighting, printing, structural installations and ongoing maintenance planning.
  • Financial & Procurement Control: Manage landlord and council payment schedules and contracts to maximize site value. Drive procurement efficiencies by maintaining at least three suppliers per item and negotiating favorable terms, while overseeing full financial reconciliations, petty cash control, and statutory compliance.
  • Human Resources: Lead in-country HR functions, taking charge of recruitment, training, performance appraisals, and team discipline.
