Background
atoto is seeking to recruit a Dental Nurse to deliver quality and efficient dental services on the Watoto Children's villages.
Key Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to).
- Deliver nursing care to dental patients in accordance with Watoto Medical Services protocols and Uganda National Nursing guidelines.
- Conduct appropriate triage of dental patients, and provide emergency treatment as needed.
- Furnish patients with post-operative instructions for oral care following surgery or dental procedures.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive reporting records in accordance with Watoto Medical Services and Ministry of Health guidelines.
- Ensure timely placement of drug orders and maintain clear accountability for prescribed medications.
- Dispense prescribed medicines appropriately to dental patients and keep accurate records of drug stocks in the dental clinic.
- Uphold diligent standards of sterility and infection control within the dental clinic
- Maintain a patient and family-centred approach in all interactions with patients and their families.
- Provide assistance to dentists during dental procedures.
- Conduct and promote standardised oral health education sessions for Watoto clients.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience.
- The applicant for the role should hold at least a Diploma in nursing.
- Must be a registered practitioner with the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council.
- At least two years' experience in dental practice.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to relate well to children of all ages.
- Passionate about community health care with the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Commitment to working within standardised guidelines.
