Kai Bar and Restaurant is an upcoming, high-end bar and restaurant located in Ntinda.
On behalf of Kai Bar & Restaurant, we are seeking an experienced, dynamic, and results-driven Floor Manager to lead daily operations and deliver exceptional guest experiences. This role is responsible for overseeing front-of-house operations, managing staff performance, ensuring operational excellence, and maintaining the highest standards of service, compliance, and profitability.
The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with a hands-on management style, excellent problem-solving skills, and a proven ability to drive team performance in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily floor operations to ensure seamless service delivery and exceptional guest experiences.
- Lead, supervise, and motivate front-of-house staff, ensuring high standards of performance, professionalism, and accountability.
- Monitor staff attendance, grooming, punctuality, productivity, and adherence to company policies.
- Handle escalated guest concerns and complaints professionally, ensuring timely and satisfactory resolution.
- Coordinate activities between service, bar, kitchen, and support teams to maintain operational efficiency.
- Conduct routine floor inspections to ensure cleanliness, ambiance, hygiene, safety, and service standards are consistently maintained.
- Manage shift planning, staff scheduling, and workforce deployment to meet operational demands.
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate with relevant teams to ensure adequate supplies and uninterrupted service.
- Oversee cash handling, billing accuracy, and compliance with financial control procedures.
- Coach, mentor, and support team members through ongoing performance management and development.
- Prepare operational reports, document incidents, and provide regular updates and recommendations to management.
- Drive initiatives that improve customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, and revenue performance.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, food hygiene standards, liquor licensing requirements, and company policies.
- Support the successful execution of events, promotions, and special functions hosted by the venue.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years' experience in hospitality operations, preferably within bars, restaurants, lounges, or other high-volume service environments.
- Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within the hospitality industry.
- Strong leadership, team management, and staff development capabilities.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and make sound operational decisions.
- Strong organisational, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities.
- Good understanding of customer service excellence, hospitality operations, stock control, and financial accountability.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations, food hygiene requirements, and liquor licensing standards.
- Professional, proactive, and solutions-oriented approach to management.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
