Job Summary
The HIV/TB Care and Treatment Specialist is responsible for overseeing Cluster activities, planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating HIV/TB programs through strengthening and building the capacity of the respective LA health teams to improve the quality of HIV and TB services through onsite trainings, support supervision, clinical, and QI mentoring/coaching.
Overall Responsibilities
- Provide technical support on the program design and implementation of COT, Case management, TB, Pediatric, and adolescent HIV care service delivery standards, guidelines, and interventions at both the health facility and community levels in all LAs.
- Coordinate with supervisors and respective program component Advisors to supervise and guide cluster-based teams like the eMTCT-MCH Officers, HTS- Prevention Officers, Community Health Systems Strengthening Officers, Supply chain Officers, and Care and treatment Officers in their day-to-day project activities.
- Support Supply chain Officers, local authorities, and facility teams in the appropriate management of commodities for supporting service delivery along the 95:95:95 cascades for integrated HIV and TB services.
- Participate in performance review activities at the regional, LA, cluster, and facility level.
- Contribute to the development and review of local authorities annual work plans and budgets, and offer technical guidance to implementation teams on COT, Case management, TB, Pediatric, and adolescent HIV care service delivery
- Coordinate with other IPs in guiding at the national and subnational levels to improve the reach and impact adult and pediatric and adolescent HIV/TB services delivery
- Conduct appropriate analyses of relevant data to strengthen activities of COT, Case management, TB, Pediatric, and adolescent HIV care, in particular, data collection, tracking, and reporting efforts for all populations.
- Build the capacity of the LA health teams and TA teams to support health facility teams and monitor provision of integrated HIV/TB and chronic care services delivery in line with MoH guidelines
- Build capacity of supported LAs and Health facilities to utilize QI methodologies to identify and address performance gaps in COT, Case management, TB, Pediatric, and adolescent HIV care services in line with the national QI framework.
- Support the LAs to develop and maintain a pool of LA and regional coaches who will support the health facility improvement teams to improve the quality of care and services provided in COT, Case management, TB, Pediatric, and adolescent HIV care services.
- Write and submit accurate and quality program reports in line with organizational, national, and donor guidance and policies.
- Collaborate with research directorate staff to conduct implementation science, including documentation of best practices and writing of abstracts in COT, Case management, TB, Pediatric, and adolescent HIV care services.
- Monitor access and utilization of subgrants for COT, Case management, TB, Pediatric, and adolescent HIV care in achieving set project performance metrics.
- Any other duties as may be assigned
Required Qualification, Experience and Competencies:
- · Bachelor’s degree in medicine (MBChB) or an equivalent and additional training and experience in HIV/AIDS and TB clinical management· At least 5 years of experience working with HIV/AIDS and TB clinical service delivery support programs.
- · MPH or related public health policy management course
- 5 Years Relevant Experience
