Human Resource and Administration Manager at Yako Bank Uganda Limited
Role of the Job
The HR & Administration Manager will oversee the development and implementation of Yako Bank’s Human Resource Strategic Plan. The role involves driving the people agenda, including:
- Employee benefits programs & relations
- Compensation structures & HR compliance
- Organizational development & performance management
- Recruitment, retention, and staffing
- Workplace health & safety in line with labor laws
- Day-to-day office administration
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and compliance frameworks.
- Foster a workplace culture aligned with Yako Bank’s Vision, Mission, and Values.
- Advise senior leadership on HR matters affecting performance and business relationships.
- Manage the HR budget and ensure efficient resource allocation.
- Oversee recruitment, training, and performance management.
- Ensure HR records, benefits, and corporate documents comply with legal standards.
- Conduct HR audits and risk assessments to mitigate compliance gaps.
- Promote employee engagement through cultural change and motivation initiatives.
- Keep the organization updated on industry trends and innovations.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Humanities (HR, Social Sciences, Organizational Psychology, or related field).
- Postgraduate qualification in HR or related discipline.
- Member of the Human Resource Association of Uganda (added advantage).
- 10+ years of HR experience in financial institutions, with 5+ years in a supervisory role.
- Proven experience in culture transformation & labor law compliance.
- Strong knowledge of banking policies, people management, and HR best practices.
