JOB DETAILS:

Location: Busoga Agricultural & Vocational Institute (BAVI)
Reports to: Head of Department
Type: Full-Time

About the Role:
BAVI is seeking a passionate and experienced instructor to deliver training under the National Diploma in Animal Production & Management program. The successful candidate will play a key role in equipping students with practical and theoretical knowledge in modern animal production and farm management.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Teach and assess students following the diploma curriculum and NCDC/UVTAB standards.
• Prepare lesson plans, teaching aids, and instructional materials.
• Deliver both theoretical and practical sessions in livestock management, animal health, and feed production.
• Supervise students during farm practicals, internships, and research activities.
• Maintain accurate student records and evaluate learning progress.
• Participate in curriculum review and development.
• Ensure safety and welfare of animals during training activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Animal Production, Animal Science, or a related field from a recognized institution.
• A teaching qualification is an added advantage.
• At least two (2) years of experience in teaching or practical farm management.
• Familiarity with the UVTAB standards/modulars and national curriculum requirements is desirable.

Required Skills & Competencies:

• Solid knowledge of livestock production, health, and farm management.
• Strong practical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and mentoring abilities.
• Organizational and time-management skills.
