Background

MU-JHU Care LTD | MU-JHU Research Collaboration is seeking to recruit a Nurse Counsellor.

Required Qualifications:

  • A Diploma in Nursing/Midwifery, Clinical Medicine with a Certificate or Diploma in Counselling.
  • A Post graduate Diploma or degree in a health-related field is an added advantage.
  • At least 4 years’ experience in a busy health institution, preferably a Research setting.
  • Should be computer literate, with good record keeping/documentation skills and strong attention to detail.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Patient support, Counselling and Administration of informed consent forms
  • Take participants’ vitals and carry out sample collection.
  • Provide family planning and adherence counselling.
  • Support and participate in study participant recruitment and follow up.
  • Carry out quality control measures through the review of collected data for completeness and validity.
  • Assist the study Coordinator in compilation of study reports.
  • Maintain professional GCP/HSP accreditation and complete study specific training as required
  • Health Education and Guidance
  • Documentation and Follow-up
  • Professional Development and Collaboration (participate in training and continuous education on counselling techniques, ethics, and patient care)
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary clinic teams to deliver integrated care
  • Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor
