JOB DETAILS:

To support research coordination activities by performing data collection, analysis, and documentation while contributing to innovative ICT-based research solutions in alignment with institutional objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Research Coordination & Automation

• Align research activities with UICT’s strategic focus.
• Support the automation of research management processes.

2. Applied Research & Innovation

• Develop and implement applied research models and ICT-based tools.
• Identify knowledge gaps and opportunities for UICT’s research participation.

3. Research Execution

• Conduct data collection, entry, and analysis for research projects.
• Draft research reports, policy briefs, and executive summaries.

4. Stakeholder Engagement

• Facilitate research forums and present findings to stakeholders.
• Coordinate dissemination through publications and meetings.

5. ICT Integration & Digital Solutions

• Research innovative ICT approaches for institutional programs.
• Support integration of digital technologies in education and other sectors.

6. Partnerships & Collaboration

• Assist in research-related partnerships and technical cooperation.
• Promote interdisciplinary research (ICT with health, agriculture, etc.).

7. Innovation Management

• Organize hackathons, innovation challenges, and student incubators.

8. General Duties

• Perform other assigned research-related tasks.

Person Specifications

Education & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Research Methods, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related ICT field.
• Master’s degree (added advantage).
• Certifications in research methodologies, project management, or IT (e.g., ITIL, PMP, CRA – preferred).

Experience

• 2+ years in research, innovation, or ICT roles (academic/industry).
• Proven experience in:
  • Applied research and model development.
  • Data analysis tools (SPSS, R, Python, Stata).
  • Research publication and funding proposals.

Skills & Attributes

Technical Skills:

• Strong research methodologies and data collection techniques.
• Proficiency in statistical software and ICT innovations.
• Project management and proposal writing.
