The Operations function at Spiro is the backbone of execution. It integrates our four core verticals; Manufacturing, Energy, Operations & Maintenance (O&M), and Technology into one seamless value chain. With Spiro’s rapid expansion across Uganda and the region, operational excellence is critical to ensure scalability, efficiency, and reliability at every customer and partner touchpoint.

The Operations Lead will play a central role in shaping and embedding operational discipline across the organization. Beyond core delivery, this role supports all business verticals, partners, and sales functions by driving efficiency, ensuring systems integration, and embedding a culture of accountability. It is a highly cross-functional role requiring an operator who can connect strategy to daily execution across multiple moving parts.

PROFILE REQUIRED:

A. Process & System Excellence

  • Design, document, and enforce SOPs across assembly, distribution, swap operations, compliance, and support processes.
  • Conduct operational audits to identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements.
  • Ensure system integration across collections, inventory, dispatch, sales support, and customer platforms.

B. Operational Delivery

  • Coordinate with assembly, logistics, and O&M teams to ensure timely, complete, and compliant deliveries.
  • Establish and monitor operational SLAs across channels and verticals.
  • Support sales teams with operational readiness to meet partner/customer commitments.
  • Work closely with regulatory and compliance teams to ensure uninterrupted operations.

C. Performance Management

  • Build and maintain operational dashboards for leadership and vertical heads.
  • Track KPIs such as on-time delivery, process adherence, partner satisfaction, and system uptime.
  • Drive corrective actions when gaps are identified, ensuring business continuity.

D. Cross-Functional & Vertical Collaboration

  • Partner with Customer Experience, Key Accounts, and Quality to align processes with customer-first standards.
  • Support sales and partnerships by ensuring smooth operational enablement (bike availability, swap readiness, after-sales support).
  • Work with Technology teams to ensure systems and platforms meet operational needs.
  • Act as the operations liaison for all vertical leads, ensuring interdependencies are managed.

Experience needed:

  • 5+ years in operations, logistics, or process management in a scaling environment.
  • Strong expertise in process optimization (Lean, Six Sigma, or equivalent).
  • Proficiency in data analysis and dashboard tools (Excel, Power BI).
  • Demonstrated success in managing complex, multi-stakeholder operations.
  • Experience supporting cross-functional teams and business verticals.
  • Problem-solving mindset with strong execution discipline and resilience.
