About Rooted Wisdom Africa:

Rooted Wisdom Africa is a locally registered organization committed to community-rooted development, championing local leadership, ownership, and sustainable solutions. We are in the process of establishing a multi-functional Empowerment Center and Demonstration Farm that will serve as a hub for training, skills development, and regenerative agriculture in south-central Uganda.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Project Manager to coordinate the implementation of key infrastructure at our Empowerment Center, including classrooms, latrines, fencing, water systems, and demonstration spaces. This role requires a strong ability to manage construction timelines, budgets, and stakeholder relationships, while also identifying and securing technical and funding partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate all phases of infrastructure development—from planning and design to construction and completion.
  • Manage project budgets and timelines to ensure efficiency and accountability.
  • Liaise with local contractors, government offices, suppliers, and community stakeholders.
  • Identify and pursue strategic partnerships for technical assistance and resource mobilization.
  • Ensure clear documentation, reporting, and communication across all project components.
  • Apply adaptive project management techniques in both formal and informal settings.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven experience managing multi-component projects, ideally in construction, rural development, or community infrastructure.
  • Strong budgeting, scheduling, and coordination skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage partnerships with a range of stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with working in under-resourced or community-led settings a plus.

Compensation:

Salary is commensurate with experience and funding availability. Please include your expected range below.
