Role Description
The Sales Lead role is a full-time, on-site position based in Uganda. The Sales Lead will oversee sales activities for lubricant products, identify new business opportunities, and manage relationships with key clients in sectors such as mining and construction. Daily responsibilities include prospecting and qualifying leads, conducting client meetings and site visits, preparing proposals and quotations, and negotiating commercial terms in alignment with company policies. The Sales Lead will collaborate with technical and operations teams to understand customer requirements, provide product recommendations, and ensure timely delivery and after-sales support. The role also involves monitoring market trends, forecasting sales, preparing performance reports, and contributing to sales strategies that support growth across the region.
Qualifications
- Strong sales and business development skills, including lead generation, pipeline management, and deal closing.
- Ability to build and maintain customer relationships, with skills in client engagement, stakeholder management, and customer service.
- Experience in the industrial, mining, construction, or automotive sectors, preferably with knowledge of lubricants or related technical products.
- Competence in market research, opportunity analysis, and sales reporting to support data-driven decision-making.
- Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts in clear, accessible language.
- Proficiency in basic digital tools (e.g., CRM systems, spreadsheets, and presentation software) to manage accounts and track performance.
- Demonstrated organizational and planning skills, including territory management and time management in a field-sales environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Ability to work on-site, travel to customer locations within Uganda, and collaborate in a multicultural environment.
- Prior experience in a sales lead, account management, or team coordination role is an advantage.
