Background information about the job or company:

The incumbent will be responsible to the Principal Agricultural Extension Skills Management Officer for performing the following duties:-

Responsibilities or duties:

• Engaging with Universities and Agricultural Training Colleges on regular update of the curriculum for the Agricultural Training Institutions;
• Identifying training needs and opportunities related to Agricultural Extension services and reporting to the relevant authorities;
• Building capacity of subject matter specialists in District Local Governments (DLGs) through continuous knowledge updates and in-service training for DLGs Production staff;
• Undertaking analysis of skills required for continuous development of Agricultural Extension service delivery system;
• Monitoring, evaluating and reporting on the progress and outcome of training programs and projects and providing feedback to various stakeholders in Agricultural extension services;
• Supporting development, implementation and monitoring of training programs in Agricultural Extension Sub-Sector.
• Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications or requirements:

• Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture; or Agricultural Extension; or Botany and Zoology; or Fisheries or from a recognized University/Institution. A Post graduate qualification in the above fields will be an added advantage.

Experience needed:

Applicants should have a minimum of three (3) years relevant working experience in the field of Agricultural Training which should have been served at the level of Skills Management Officer in Government.
