Reproductive Health Uganda (RHU) is a member of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF), the world’s largest Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) non-governmental organization. RHU’s core mandate is to champion and sustainably provide training, research evidence, high quality rights based SRHR information and services, with a special focus to young people.
RHU seeks to recruit highly skilled, experienced and motivated persons to fill the following positions
Responsibilities or duties
- Manage clinic, outreach and community SRH service delivery units so as to attain and maintain national and international quality standards
- Co-ordinate and monitor programme and project implementation at the RHU branch to ensure attainment of planned results.
- Provide SRH services to clients at all service delivery units as per RHU’s SRH package.
- Provide technical training, guidance and mentoring to staff and community agents to standardize and improve their performance
- Initiate and develop programme activities that address branch SRH needs in a gender and youth focused manner
- Develop and maintain networks with organizations at district level for purposes of partnership, advocacy, resource sharing and cost saving
- Coordinate and support RHU Volunteer Members’ activities in the branch
- Maintain valid and up to date finance and program documents regarding RHU branch activities, including the preparation and dispatch of timely, accurate and complete reports
- Work closely with government structures e.g. VHTs and advocate for inclusion of RHU activities into district work plans and access to district health resources
- Perform any professional duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
Thorough knowledge as well as skill in providing integrated Sexual and Reproductive Health services. Skill in offering related training, quality of care, supervision; communication, including documentation, report writing and feedback. Demonstrated effective leadership, administration and motivation skills, ability to organize and capacity to multi-task and deliver accurate and comprehensive results in an efficient and timely manner. Demonstrated ability to work effectively, and under pressure with minimum supervision, and willingness to build, coach, guide task-oriented teams.
Experience needed
Diploma in Clinical Medicine from an accredited institution, with a valid practicing license, and registration certificate with at least five years’ experience in Reproductive Health service delivery, including counselling, providing long term family planning and Youth Friendly Services, etc., as well as proven experience in project management. Individuals with previous NGO experience will have an added advantage.
