Virtus Global Security Company Limited is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Chief Accountant with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a manufacturing or production based environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of our production plant, ensuring accurate cost accounting, managing budgets, supervising compliance, and contributing to strategic financial planning in line with operational realities of the manufacturing sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage all accounting operations including production cost accounting, inventory control, general ledger, payroll, and accounts receivable/payable.
- Monitor and analyze manufacturing costs and variances and recommend cost-saving measures.
- Prepare and maintain standard cost structures for all production activities, including labor, raw materials, overhead, and equipment depreciation.
- Lead month-end and year-end closing processes including preparation of manufacturing specific financial reports.
- Coordinate periodic physical stock counts and reconciliation with inventory records.
- Ensure proper capitalization and depreciation of factory machinery and equipment.
- Implement and maintain internal controls specific to production workflows and inventory handling.
- Liaise with production and procurement departments to align financial records with operational activity.
- Assist with audits and ensure compliance with relevant tax laws and financial regulations.
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes tailored to seasonal or volume-driven production changes.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional qualification (CPA, ACCA or equivalent) is mandatory.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a senior accountant or chief accountant in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Deep understanding of cost accounting principles, inventory management systems, and production financial controls.
- Strong knowledge of accounting software and ERP systems commonly used in manufacturing.
- Proven ability to supervise teams and coordinate with cross-functional departments.
- High attention to detail, analytical thinking, and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of local tax regulations and compliance requirements relevant to production entities.
Desirable Attributes:
- Experience working with large scale government projects.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain financial data to non-financial managers.
