JOB DETAILS:
Kakira Sugar Limited (KSL) is a leading sugar manufacturer in Uganda. KSL boasts of two (2) sugar estates, one in Kakira - Jinja and the other in Kayunga. We seek to recruit dynamic, competent and experienced candidates to fill various vacant positions in the company.

Job title: 5 HR Services Officer
Reports to: Employee Relations & Services Delivery Manager

Overall purpose of the job.
Supports our employees while conforming to labor laws.

Key Responsibilities
• Supporting the development and implementation of HR initiatives and systems
• Providing counselling on policies and procedures
• Being actively involved in recruitment by preparing job descriptions, posting ads and managing the hiring process
• Support the development and implementation of HR initiatives and systems

• Lead the development and implementation of Organizational
• Effectiveness Organizational Development initiatives that increase the capability, understanding, effectiveness, and efficiency Talent Management
• Oversee recruitment process, candidate sourcing scheduling, and experience. Conduct background checks.
• Identify and recommend innovative methods to attract diverse talent and simplify and enhance recruitment and on boarding processes.
• Guide supervisors during the hiring and annual performance reviews
• Conduct exit interviews and conclude for management decisions
• Advice on talent pipelines and sustainability planning
• Determine current staffing needs and produce forecasts, develop talent acquisition strategies and hiring plans, leading employment branding initiatives. Performance Management and Employee Engagement
• Support managers in connecting organizational goals with individual work plan to encourage greater staff ownership over our achievements.
• Coach managers in how they supervise, review performance, encourage collaboration, manage internal conflicts, and how they can positively impact the culture, taking into account the international nature of KSL
• Hold others accountable regarding employee interactions and cultural standards.
• Work with the HHR to monitor and track team member engagement while identifying and implementing ways to improve personnel experience.
• Act as a cultural steward; work with departmental heads all levels to further develop the overall capability to foster a healthy, cohesive, collaborative, fun, fair, and equitable workplace. Learning and Development.
• Work closely with team members to encourage personal and professional growth.
• Develop a Learning and Development manual to guide team members.
• Stay current on developments and innovations in training in the sectors so the organization's training activities remain descriptions, posting ads and managing the hiring process
• Create and implement effective on boarding plans.
• Liaise with L&D to develop training and development programs.
• Assist in performance management processes
• Support the management of welfare Issues
• Maintain employee records (attendance, leave etc.) according to policy and legal requirements Ensure legal compliance to employment terms and conditions.

Requirements
Knowledge, qualifications & Experience
Education:
• BSc/BA in business administration, social studies relevant field further training will be a plus
• HR Credentials (eg. PHR from the Certif Institute) Experience, Skills and Competences:
• Committed and approachable individual
• Proven experience as HR officer, or other HR PO
• Knowledge of HR functions (pay & benefits, re training & development etc.)
• Understanding of labor laws and disciplinary pro
• Proficient in MS Office, knowledge of SAP/HCM is a plu
• Outstanding organizational and time-management ability
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Problem-solving and decision-making aptitude
• Strong ethics and reliability
