JOB DETAILS:

Description

Yalelo Uganda is  hiring a Water Supply & Control Technician (05) that manages the intake, flow, and distribution of water across ponds and cages, ensuring optimal water conditions for fish growth while minimizing wastage and environmental impact.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain pumps, valves, and water channels.
• Monitoring water flow rates and utilization in the hatchery.
• Monitor water levels in ponds
• Coordinate with aeration and dredging teams to maintain pond conditions.
• Record and report water supply activities and incidents.
• Implement water conservation measures in line with sustainability practices.
• Follow safety protocols when handling pumps, valves, and water channels.
• Report hazards, leaks, or unsafe working conditions.
• Ensure safe water handling practices to prevent contamination.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the line manager

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Certificate in water management, fisheries and aquaculture or related fields
• Experience in water management or irrigation systems.
• Knowledge of pump operation, plumbing, and basic hydraulics.
• Understanding of aquaculture water requirements.
• Ability to work outdoors and under physically demanding conditions.
