Business Development Manager – Cooperatives at CIC Insurance

Job Purpose:

Generate revenue for CIC Group to achieve corporate annual budgets through the development of assigned markets and channels as a source of profitable business for the company through the development of strong relationships and partnerships.

Number of Positions: 2

Duty Station: Central and Western 

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Preparation of departmental sales and expenditure budgets
  2. Generate and build revenues through effective daily sales management;
  3. Building & developing strong strategic partnerships/relationships within the assigned market and channels;
  4. Ensure prompt quotation and tender documents preparation and delivery to clients/ intermediaries;
  5. Plan and carry out consumer education within the assigned markets and channels.
  6. Drive the acquisition of profitable business for the company (New and Renewal).
  7. Facilitate the design and development of need-based products for the assigned market.
  8. Ensure the delivery of an excellent customer experience to assigned clients in the market.
  9. Recruit, develop, and build the capacity of intermediaries/sales force in the market.
  10. Ensure compliance with the credit control policy.
  11. Liaising with the various departments to ensure timely service delivery to the clients.
  12. Liaising with support functions to follow up on client queries and complaints.
  13. Conduct market activations and storms in strategic locations with respective sales teams through visits or other means;
  14. Build and maintain strategic alliances for business growth with intermediaries and industry stakeholders.
  15. Facilitate the recruitment, training, motivation, and retention of strategic alliances for business growth with intermediaries and industry stakeholders;
  16. Prepare market intelligence reports on products and services.
  17. Any other responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time.

Academic Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Professional Qualifications

  1. A diploma in Insurance, or any professional sales/marketing-related course, is an added advantage.

Experience

  1. Minimum of five (5) years relevant experience, two (2 must have been at a supervisory level. Experience in cooperatives is an added advantage.
