Position Summary:
The CCTV Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and monitoring all CCTV and surveillance systems across the hotel premises to ensure the safety and security of guests, staff, and property. The role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a high level of discretion in a luxury hospitality environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain CCTV systems, access control devices, and related security infrastructure.
- Monitor CCTV feeds in real-time and record incidents or unusual activities in accordance with hotel policies.
- Perform regular checks, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance on surveillance equipment.
- Ensure all surveillance footage is securely stored and backed up for designated periods.
- Respond promptly to equipment failures and coordinate repairs or replacements.
- Work closely with the Security and IT teams to ensure integrated system performance.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle all data and footage with discretion and professionalism.
- Prepare daily and weekly reports on surveillance activity and equipment status.
- Assist with investigations and footage retrieval when incidents occur.
- Ensure compliance with local laws and hotel policies regarding surveillance and data protection.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Diploma or Certificate in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, IT, or a related field.
- Minimum 2–3 years of hands-on experience with CCTV systems, preferably in a hospitality or commercial setting.
- Knowledge of IP-based camera systems, DVRs/NVRs, access control, and alarm systems.
- Strong understanding of network and cabling systems related to surveillance.
- Familiarity with Ugandan laws regarding surveillance and data privacy is an added advantage.
- Ability to work independently and maintain a high level of accuracy and integrity.
