The government of the Republic of Uganda through the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAIF), has received financing from the World Bank towards the cost of the Uganda Climate Smart Agricultural Transformation Project (UCSATP). The project intends to apply part of the proceeds towards a matching grant that will finance farmers to acquire artificial insemination services.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAIF) invites qualified Artificial Insemination (AI) service providers to be verified and certified on the UCSATP e-voucher platform. Under this system, farmers will request and pay for AI services digitally. Payments will be made only after conception has been confirmed. Only eligible and accredited providers will be enlisted. Enlistment does not constitute a contract with the project.
WHO CAN APPLY:
Legally registered AI companies, cooperatives, or associations.
a. Operating within UCSATP target districts.
b. Employing Certified AI technicians with proper equipment and semen sources.
c. Willing to operate under the UCSATP e-voucher system (no direct contracts).
d. With proven track record and experience in provision of Artificial Insemination services for a minimum of four years.
SCOPE OF WORK:
Provide AI services for dairy and beef cattle, maintain cold chain and bio-security, advise and create awareness among farmers, and report services digitally.
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Letter of Expression of Interest.
a. Organization profile and operational districts.
b. List of certified AI technicians.
c. Proof of access to approved semen and cold chain / Liquid Nitrogen Storage facilities.
d. Proven track record of working with farmer groups / organizations to create awareness on the use of AI technologies in the project districts.
