  • Effective management, operation, and maintenance of all laboratories at the Institute
    • Ensure labs meet industry standards and support training/research activities
    • Provide a safe and conducive environment for learning and innovation

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Laboratory Management and Supervision

  • Oversee daily operations of all technical laboratories
    • Participate in development of plans and budgets for lab equipment
    • Ensure all labs are properly equipped with necessary tools/materials
    • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs)
    • Support building innovation lab ecosystems and industry-grade simulation labs

2. Technical Support and Training

  • Organize and conduct training on lab equipment usage and safety
    • Provide technical guidance on latest ICT/electronics/multimedia trends
    • Encourage student participation in project exhibitions and skills bootcamps

3. Equipment Maintenance and Safety Compliance

  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance plans
    • Conduct routine inspections and equipment calibrations
    • Ensure compliance with health/safety/environmental regulations

4. Inventory and Procurement Management

  • Maintain up-to-date inventory of all lab equipment/consumables
    • Collaborate with academic departments on equipment procurement
    • Monitor and control lab resource usage to minimize waste

5. Research and Development Support

  • Support student/faculty research and innovation projects
    • Stay updated on ICT/electronics advancements to improve labs
    • Foster industry collaborations for research/training opportunities

6. Team Leadership and Administration

  • Supervise and mentor lab technicians/support staff
    • Prepare periodic reports on lab activities/maintenance
    • Participate in curriculum development for practical training

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering/Electronics/IT/Telecommunications
    • Minimum 5 years in technical laboratory setting (2+ years supervisory)
    • Strong knowledge of lab equipment/maintenance/safety protocols
    • ICT/multimedia/fibre optic proficiency (advantage)

    • Hands-on equipment troubleshooting experience
    • Excellent problem-solving/analytical skills
