Role Description

The Driving Instructor will provide practical and theoretical driver training to new and existing drivers, with a focus on road safety and compliant driving practices. This full-time, on-site role based in Kampala includes planning and delivering lessons, conducting driving assessments, and coaching drivers in the correct operation of trucks and other vehicles used by the company. The instructor will demonstrate safe driving techniques, guide learners through traffic rules and regulations, and ensure training records and progress reports are accurately maintained. The role also involves identifying training needs, supporting drivers during evaluations, and collaborating with management to improve safety standards and driving performance.

Qualifications

Strong skills in Driving Instruction and Driver Training, with the ability to teach practical and classroom-based lessons.

Knowledge of Road Safety principles and local traffic regulations, with experience applying them in training programs.

Proficiency in Truck Driving and handling commercial vehicles, preferably with relevant licensing and clean driving record.

Experience designing and delivering Training sessions, including lesson planning and performance evaluation.

Valid and up-to-date driver’s license appropriate for commercial and truck driving.

Previous experience as a driving instructor, professional driver, or transport trainer is highly beneficial.

Strong communication, patience, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work respectfully with learners of varied skill levels.

Ability to work on-site in Kampala, adhere to company safety policies, and maintain accurate documentation.
